Review: Civilize This! by Griddly Games

We recently were given the opportunity to review a game called Civilize This!  by Griddly Games.   When I first signed up for this review, I didn’t know much about this game.  I was just very in love with the name of it.  Civilize This!  was a title that spoke to my personality. LOL  Imagine my surprise when I realized that it was an expansion pack for the Wise Alec Trivia game, which I already owned.  Super cool!
About Civilize This!
From Griddly Games
Cultural trivia with a adventurous twist!
Hello Time Travelers! Explore the world’s cultures across time with the trivia game based on the award-winning Wise Alec™ Family Trivia Game. There are 300 questions to test your knowledge of Ancient, Medieval, and Modern cultures. Two levels of questions on each card let everyone from young scholars to history buffs play together. Plus, Wise Alec™ cards will have you doing tongue twisters, brain teasers, and fun exercises!
The cards from this game can also be used to expand your own set of Wise Alec™ Family Trivia Game.
It was also chosen as one of Dr. Toy’s 100 Best Children’s products.
Our Experience
To say we loved it is an understatement.  We’ve had so much fun playing it, and we’ve been playing it a lot.
There are two ways to play it, as a stand alone game or with the Wise Alec Trivia Game.  Since we already own the original trivia game we played it with the board.  But it’s just as fun and easy to play without it.

Civilize This!  is a trivia game with a fun twist.  The trivia questions cover three time periods: Ancient, Medieval, and Modern cultures and comes with f0ur decks of cards and a colored die.  There are two levels of difficulty to accommodate various levels.
Along with the trivia cards, there are Wise Alec cards.  Wise Alec cards range from doing a silly stunt, saying a tongue twister, or getting an extra chance on a challenging question.  They get you moving and laughing!
The game is simple to play.  You go around answering questions and winning  points until a player reaches the pre-determined number.  This also allows you to customize the length of the game.
You can further level the “playing field” for large age gaps by requiring older players to earn more points.   Or you can have the older players answer the harder questions for the same amount of points as the easier ones.  There are so many ways to customize this game to fit your players.
This game is a fun way to learn or review world history.  We are both learning facts that we didn’t know and Mackenzie begs to play it several times a week.  If that isn’t high praise, I don’t know what is.
I see a couple more of their expansion packs in our future.  =o)
Age Range: Ages 8+
2 - 4 players
Price: $14.99
As a member of the TOS Review Crew I was given the game  in return for my honest opinion.  All opinions are my own.
