Today's assignment involves the sense of taste. I had a great idea involving my mom's new teeth and an orange but she wouldn't cooperate. She said I could have them when she kicked the bucket. LOL I said thanks but no thanks cuz I needed them for Thursday.

So I choose a picture of my husband enjoying his first taste of 'Sand-Free" food for the first time in a very long time.

Probably a picture of him eating the giant steak he plans to have later would have made for a more interesting shot. But I don't have time for that today cuz, Hooray, my honey's finally home!

The five senses challenge continues. Today Amber has challenged us to photograph something that represents the sense of "touch".

I chose a cuddly baby for my subject. Who wouldn't want to stroke those silky curls or cuddly that warm little body in her fuzzy jammies?

It's time for another photo challenge over at Everything Except the Grill. This weeks theme is The Five Senses. Today we are to focus on sound. I was very excited about this one because I already took the perfect picture this summer.

It's a sound that anyone with children is familiar with.

I trust that this one needs no explanation. LOL Everytime I look at this picture I can hear the screaming all over again. Like going back in time.

It's time for another photo challenge over at Everything Except the Grill. This weeks theme is The Five Senses. Today we are to focus on sight.

I chose a "sight" you don't often see.

Ducks swimming down the road you live on. Right past your front door.

Yep, that was pretty much our week last week. LOL Sadly, for my toddler, the water has gone down today and the ducks no longer allow her to be entertained at our window. LOL

May have been cured. I am notorious for killing most living things, people being the exception. Every plant I've ever own has died a slow and miserable death.


So it was with great misgivings that I planted a couple of tomato plants this year. The "fresh" produce here is horrid at best and I really wanted to taste a yummy tomato that had actual flavor. So Mackenzie and I bought a couple of plants and planted them in a Topsey Turvey, as seen on tv. LOL We also had one zucchini plant because Mackenzie planted it on a field trip.



It is with great pride that I show you our "bounty".

The tomato plants are continuing to bring in fruit by I'm afraid that was our one and only zucchini. It was could while it lasted.

Today's challenge is Black and White.

My subject is my beautiful daughter, Mackenzie. I was torturing her with her first day of 3rd grade photos. This is the least squinty of the batch. The instant she sees a camera her eyes start squinting and closing, no matter where the light is.


On this particular day, the light was behind her. Yes, I know that's the wrong thing to do but I wanted a shot with her eyes open. But, alas, she squinted for every shot as if the sun was shining directly in her face. Sigh...

My Life in Pictures

I love taking pictures and this challenge, over at Everything But the Grill, looks like fun.

The Rules:

The purpose of this photo challenge project is to encourage you to pick up your camera and start capturing details of your life. This project should also serve as a way to look at what others are finding to shoot and will hopefully keep you inspired to look for more moments in your life you wouldn't always think to capture with your camera.

Since I just discovered this challenge, I'm going to use one photo to cover the first 3 days. Here's Kayleigh out enjoying some summer fun at one of our favorite places, Ocean Breeze Waterpark. Floating down the lazy river is one of my favorite waterpark activities. Sadly, this waterpark doesn't have a lazy river for us "Big Kids."
